Tilly's Finger-Painted Christmas Tree Card

Supplies needed:

White card

Pencil

Green, red & brown poster paints

Paper shapes to decorate

Glue

First, we folded the card in half to create our Christmas card. We then talked about how Christmas trees are triangle-shaped, then using the pencil I drew a large triangle shape on the front of the card. We then talked about the colours you can see on Christmas trees and decided to use green paint for the tree and red for the decoration colour.

I explained to Tilly that she had to use her finger to paint the colours inside the triangle. She was very patient and determined to stay inside the lines. She did such a fantastic job and was proud of her work!

We then finished the tree by painted the trunk and sticking a yellow paper star to the top.

Tilly wanted to give the card to Nanna Sparks. Naturally, she was so pleased to receive it and hear Tilly talk about how she had created it. When Christmas has gone, Nanna Sparks will keep the card as a treasured keepsake and reminder of Tilly’s love.
