Here’s what you will need:

Lolly sticks

PVA glue

Glitter

Sequins

Any other decorative items – we used mini pom-poms!

Thread or string

Sticky tape

Method:

Each snowflake is made from three lolly sticks. We used natural finish ones. You could use painted ones, or just paint them yourself beforehand. We arranged them in to a six-pointed star and used the glue to set them in place. Once dried, Tilly carefully painted a thin layer of glue over the top of the lolly sticks. She then had fabulous fun shaking the glitter over the snowflake to make it sparkle. I shook off the excess glitter and then Tilly added a few extra sparkles with sequins, before finishing off with the pom-poms.

Lastly, I used some thread and some strong sticky tape to create a hanging loop, attaching it firmly at the back of one of the points.

We made two decorations in all. Once they were fully dried and ready to hang, we decided to put on one our tree at home and took the other to Nanna Sparks’ home to hang on hers. This has been one of our favourite Christmas crafts this year, why not have a go with your little ones?
