Halloween BOO-Nanas

Simple and fun foods are a great treat for Children at Halloween and when food is simple, it's easier to make substitutions that cater for food allergies, just like @Nannasparks' grandson, Jesse. He has a dairy, egg and soya allergy but we found a great alternative that allowed him to get involved too!

To make Tilly's favourite spooky BOO-nanas, here's what you will need:

Ingredients

small bananas

200g bar of white chocolate - or - 500g pot of plain yoghurt or dairy-free yoghurt

lolly sticks

black writing icing

Method

Peel the bananas and carefully push the lolly stick into one end, you should have a small piece of the lolly stick showing (this is how you will hold your BOO-nana!).

If you're using the chocolate melt your chocolate in 30-second bursts in a microwave stirring each time until melted.

Dip each banana into the chocolate or yoghurt until completely covered and place on a tray covered in non-stick baking paper.

Add spooky faces with the black writing icing.

Place in the freezer for a minimum of two hours or you can even make them on the day before your Halloween party if you want to be really prepared!
